Background

Sue Burne’s Somerset ancestral links go back hundreds of years. As an Associate Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers and Craft Member of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen, her work is in several galleries in Somerset and in national and international exhibitions. Commissions are also taken. Flora and fauna both real and imaginary often feature in her designs. She uses a drill with diamond and stone burrs and an intaglio technique to achieve 3D effects on clear glass or to carve layers of coloured glass. Some pieces of glass are blown especially for her designs.
