John Waters
Photographer
Background
Most of John Waters’ working life has been centred around filming natural history for TV and during busy shoots, often abroad, he rarely had the time to concentrate on still photography. So that’s what he devotes his ‘down’ time to, especially after he moved to Somerset (from Bristol) in 1993.
John Waters focuses on landscapes in which this part of the country is particularly well endowed. Occasionally a good shot comes out of the blue but usually it will take several visits to a place while he figures out the best time of day, the season, the weather and the composition for the picture.
In 2018 John Waters moved back to Bristol but continues to photograph in Somerset and the West Country.
