Jane Gibson
Ceramicist
Background
Jane’s work all starts on the wheel and then is altered, added to and changed making vessels, jugs, and crazy teapots. After biscuit firing they are glazed with bright colours and patterns. They are all thrown porcelain altered and added to and fired to 1260 in an electric kiln and gold lustre added, except the cyanotypes which are only fired to 1000 degrees and glazed internally then chemicals painted on and exposed to sunlight or UV light with leaves and flowers as a resist.
Her inspiration comes in part from fairy tales but also love of landscape and natural forms. They are made for fun and it is hoped that you enjoy them
