Background

Ella makes simplistic hand thrown domestic ceramics with an echo of Country Pottery. Pots are made in red earthenware clay which are then slip decorated in a variety of colours .

Pieces are made locally in Cheddar. Each vessel is hand thrown on the potters wheel, therefore each will have its own unique character.

With simplicity and functionality in mind she creates domestic ceramics to suit both traditional and contemporary homes.

Ella draws much inspiration from her time spent at the Leach Pottery St. Ives having worked along side potters from different areas of the World.

Do you accept commissions?

Available for bespoke commissions and personalised vessels.

Do you run workshops?

I can offer workshops in different slipware processes, including the popular Sgraffito technique.

I can also teach simple hand building processes for ceramic objects.

Have a go at Throwing’ 2hr sessions for up to 3 people.

Groups of up to 6 for mixed session incorporating both hand building and Have a Go at Throwing. Throwing sessions have to be from my own studio.
